Hi, my name is Lynn. My husband, John Schafer, was in the care of Alameda Care Hospice, and first and foremost, I can say this company was absolutely spectacular. They made our journey so much more manageable with the support they provided every step of the way.

I want to give a heartfelt shout-out to Nurse Daniel and Nurse Sheryl, who cared for my husband with such dedication and compassion. Josefina, the aide, was simply amazing she was always there for John’s needs with such gentleness and care.

I also want to mention Donna, the after-hours nurse, who was truly a blessing. She was the one who came to pronounce my husband’s passing, and she did so with such kindness and spiritual grace. Her presence brought peace to us in a very difficult moment.

The entire team was phenomenal. They made one of the hardest times in our lives feel as manageable and supported as possible. They didn’t just take care of John they took care of me too.

And even after John passed, Maurice, the chaplain, came for a closing visit. He prayed with Christine, our caregiver, and me. His emotional and spiritual support was comforting and genuine.

Alameda Care Hospice covered every end of the spectrum with compassion and professionalism. If you are facing a hospice journey, I wholeheartedly recommend them. I am so very grateful.

The team was really good Jennifer,, was amazing along with Donna and Jan. They took care of my sister in law Trinidad very well. The young lady Josefina who came out to bath and clean Trinidad up, always took special care of her, handled her with dignity and grace. I would highly recommend this hospice company Alameda Care Hospice to anyone who’s going through what our family went through. The social worker Elvira was good and kind. In the beginning, we were a bit skeptical about starting hospice, but Ivan really helped us feel at ease with the process. Elvira was warm and reassuring, and that made a big difference for our family. Jan, Jennifer, Dulce, Donna, and Josefina were all wonderful each one of them cared for our loved one with compassion and treated our entire family with dignity and kindness. It truly felt like they became part of our family during this journey.

Maurice’s closing visit was exactly what we needed. It gave us a sense of peace and helped bring closure to everything we had experienced. One of the things we appreciated most is that Alameda Care Hospice offers unlimited grief support it doesn’t end. That meant the world to us. It’s a beautiful gift, and we’re so grateful.

My name is Mary Ellen my husband was on hospice with Alameda Care Hospice.
Sharon, our nurse, was absolutely amazing so caring and receptive. She truly understood our needs and responded with such compassion. We absolutely loved Donna; she was always teaching and guiding our family on how to care for my husband, which made a huge difference. Eric and his wife even came out late at night just to accommodate us, and that level of dedication meant so much.

David and Kim were also wonderful, and we can’t say enough about Chaplain Mary and Remya, the social worker they were both a blessing. We were initially very skeptical about hospice, but once we were educated about the hospice philosophy and saw the team in action, our hearts were put at ease. The comfort and support they provided changed everything for us.

Marcella was always informative and easy to talk to. And at the end, Maurice came for a closing visit. He was kind, thoughtful, passionate, and deeply compassionate it was the perfect way to close this chapter.

We are beyond grateful and would absolutely recommend Alameda Care Hospice to anyone walking through the journey of end-of-life care with a loved one.

What can my sister, Janice and I say about Alameda Hospice? Definitely not enough. They were absolutely Wonderful, Amazing, Compassionate and Inspirational. They gave us the guidance and confidence to help our Mother through her life changing experience. The Team became our new family. They knew when Mom needed a smile and a warm heart to help her through her journey. Their warm hands didn’t hurt either. If we had to give a rating of 1 to 5 stars, we would give them 💗💗💗💗💗’s. Their Love and Compassion knows no bounds. We are sincerely Grateful ❣️

In the beginning, things were a little rough for me because I didn’t fully understand the hospice philosophy. But as time went on, I began to see the heart behind it. Nurse Pam was incredibly kind and truly gifted at what she does. I appreciate her more than words can say. If it wasn’t for Pam, I honestly would have felt lost. Every time she came in, it was like sunshine filled the room she always brightened my husband’s day.

Norma was also a beautiful presence. She was extremely gentle and caring while helping care for my husband. At first, he didn’t want her near him he was very independent but once he realized I couldn’t do it all anymore, he allowed Norma to help, and after that, he absolutely adored her. Norma never forced anything; if he wasn’t up for a visit, she would respectfully come back another time. That meant the world to me. She honored our wishes, and for that, I am so grateful.

Daniel, our chaplain, was such a blessing. His prayers brought peace to our home, and when it was time for last rites, Daniel personally coordinated with a local priest who came and blessed my husband. That spiritual support was deeply meaningful to us.

I also want to thank Marcella and Eric. Whether it was a phone call or a question, they were always there and always helpful when I needed them.

I would highly recommend Alameda Care Hospice to anyone facing this journey. Their love, respect, and compassion made one of the hardest times in my life so much more bearable and even beautiful.

Hi my name is Scott Vickey and I was married 33 years and I’m so glad that I chose Alameda Care Hospice for my wife’s care.

From the very beginning of Vicky’s hospice journey, the entire team at Alameda Care Hospice was phenomenal! They were not only professional and timely, but also deeply compassionate and present every step of the way.

Dulce was incredibly kind and thoughtful. She was right by Maurice’s side when he came to offer blessings for Vicky. The connection between Vicky and Maurice was truly something special—it was a beautiful spiritual moment that brought so much peace. Witnessing that bond was unforgettable.

Elvira was also wonderful—so gentle, helpful, and considerate in everything she did. And Sheryl, our nurse, was absolutely exceptional. She was extremely attentive to Vicky’s needs and handled everything with such care and intuition. She just got it—you could feel her heart in her work.

Rosalía was amazing. Every time she came to care for Vicky, whether it was to clean her up or just be present, she did it with love and grace. It was always a joy to see her walk through the door.

When Vicky passed, it was peaceful. It was tender. Maurice returned to bless her afterward, and that moment brought a beautiful sense of closure. Even in such a trying time, the support we received was uplifting and powerful.

The hospice team went above and beyond in every way. They didn’t just provide care—they made the experience meaningful. I would wholeheartedly recommend Alameda Care Hospice to anyone seeking this kind of loving support. They truly made all the difference.

At the very beginning of our introduction to hospice, Gina—along with another kind lady whose name I sadly can’t recall—took the time to explain everything thoroughly. They were both so informative, gentle, and comforting. Their kindness helped me feel at ease right away, and I knew then that we were in good hands.

Elvira, the social worker, came out to visit us. She was very nice, and much of her attention was focused on my dad, which I appreciated deeply. Then Daniel, the chaplain, came into the picture. He was so in tune with my dad and quickly picked up on what made him light up—Disney. My dad loved everything Disney, and Daniel engaged him in conversations about Disney characters and stories. It meant the world to see my dad light up in those moments.

Jennifer, our nurse, was absolutely wonderful. She always walked in with a bright smile and cheerful spirit, which lifted my dad’s mood every time. That smile meant more than words can say.

Then there was Josefina—what a gem. My dad was fiercely independent. He didn’t want help from anyone, not even for a simple shave. But Josefina had the perfect mix of charm and determination. She stood her ground in the most loving way and eventually won him over. One day, I came home and noticed he was freshly shaved. I said, “Oh, you had a shave!” and he proudly rubbed his face and said, “Oh yeah.” It was one of those small but unforgettable moments that meant so much.

The hospice team didn’t just care for my dad—they cared for me, too. They put my heart at ease. They made a difficult season feel bearable, even peaceful. And when the time came for my dad to transition, I felt prepared. I felt peace.

Maurice came for the closing visit, and he gave me the space to speak my heart honestly. I could tell he truly cared. That visit brought so much comfort.

From beginning to end, Alameda Care Hospice felt like family. I will always be grateful. And to anyone searching for a hospice team who will walk this journey with compassion and love—I wholeheartedly recommend Alameda Care Hospice.

From the very beginning, I knew we were in good hands with Alameda Care Hospice. Donna was there for us every step of the way, supporting not only my mom and dad, but also our entire family. She truly made a difference during one of the most difficult times of our lives.

Sue was amazing. After meeting her on the first day, I felt a deep sense of peace and knew without a doubt that Alameda was the right choice for us. She made me feel so comfortable, and that meant everything.

Ivan played such a critical role in my dad’s final moments. My dad had a pacemaker, and we were struggling because we couldn’t find anyone who could turn it off. Ivan stepped in and took care of everything, which allowed my dad to pass peacefully. That alone brought us so much comfort and closure.

Losing both of my parents so close together has truly been a roller coaster of emotions. But through it all, Alameda Care Hospice stood by us. Marcella was always there when we needed her. Anytime I called, she was ready with information, guidance, and patience. Her support meant the world.

And Remya — simply amazing. Her kindness and care were felt deeply and consistently.

At the end of the journey, Maurice, the Bereavement Coordinator, brought everything together with such warmth and grace. He has a sweet spirit, and his presence gave us emotional comfort and spiritual reassurance just when we needed it most.

I am truly thankful for the entire Alameda Care Hospice team. They showed love, compassion, and empathy throughout this journey. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to any family seeking peace, dignity, and support for their loved one’s final chapter. They were a blessing to us.
